Unfortunately, many roads in Cherokee Village and other rural areas remain snow-covered and have not improved enough to safely run our bus routes. We were hopeful that conditions would improve enough for us to return to campus; however, safety must come first.
The Highland School District will not be in session on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to stay safe as you travel around these areas.
Please note the following calendar updates due to winter weather:
The HSD will now be in session on January 20, February 17,

The Highland School District will not be in session on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Many secondary and rural roads within our district boundaries remain unsafe for bus travel, making it challenging to ensure the safety of our drivers and students.
We understand that both teachers and students are eager to return to the classroom, but the safety of our school community remains our top priority.
We are hopeful that road conditions will improve and that we can safely return to campus on Thursday, January 16. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep our families informed of any updates.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
