
The Highland School District will be releasing early today as a precautionary measure ahead of the severe weather expected to move into our area later this afternoon and evening. Dismissal will be as follows:
Bus riders will be dismissed from HMS / HHS at 12:40 pm
Car riders will be dismissed after
CES car riders will be dismissed at 12:15 pm
CES Activity Bus riders will be dismissed at 12:20 pm
Bus riders will be dismissed from CES by 1:00 pm
We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. Please stay weather-aware and continue to monitor our official channels for updates.


The Highland School District is closely monitoring the potential for severe weather tomorrow and the possibility of flooding in the days following. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we will take every precaution to ensure their well-being.
As always, alerts will be sent out via our SMS messaging and alert phone system, all social media channels, and local radio and TV stations. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep everyone safe.

Heart Bus
Will run paved roads only.
Turkey Bus
Will not run Nine Mile Ridge Road. The bus will meet at Nine Mile Ridge Fire Department at 6:50 for pick-ups.

With the forecast of winter weather entering our area tomorrow early and continuing throughout the day, the Highland School District will be closed on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.


CES Families-
The orders from the popcorn fundraiser are in! Parents are asked to pick up orders at your earliest convenience. Any orders not picked up by Tuesday afternoon (2/18) will be sent home with students via bus or car.

Friday is our Valentine's Party Day at CES! You are invited to join the fun from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Parents only, please, no younger siblings.
Upon arrival, please be prepared to sign in at the front office and present a valid ID or driver's license.
We also want to take this opportunity to remind you that all persons picking up students early from school must be on the approved pick-up list for each student. Parents/guardians may add additional persons who are allowed to pick up their child by contacting the CES front office at 870-257-3118.

The Highland School District is monitoring the current weather and is aware that some roads within our district may be impassable this afternoon due to high water. We will make contact by phone with those families where the route may be modified before afternoon travel. Please note that regular drop-off times may be delayed some as our buses travel safely around the district.

The Highland School District is accepting applications for a Head Volleyball Coach for the 2025-26 school year. Applicants must have or be able to obtain an Arkansas Teaching License with a teaching assignment TBD. We are hosting DONUTS WITH GROWN-UPS next Friday, starting with Mrs. Sylvia Clement’s and Mrs. Jana Saulnier’s classes!
