These Rebels were "caught being good" during the last month by their teachers. Mr. Hemme has implemented this new program that recognizes when students go above and beyond to be great citizens. Way to go Rebels and thank you Mr. Hemme.
Spring Semester 2019 Awards were presented today at HHS. Thank you to Mrs. Crouthers for helping out. We love to recognize our achieving Rebels. Highland students are the BEST!

Today, the history department deployed a multi-school Kahoot Challenge for Constitution/Civics knowledge in recognition of Constitution Day.
We ran 7 challenges, with a total of 337 participants from 3 different school districts: Highland, Lakeside High School and Oden.
FBLA Dodgeball Tourn. was a big hit. HHS students and community members participated.
The next ACT test will be given on Oct. 26, 2019. Registration deadline is Sept. 20. Late Registration is Oct. 4. Please see Mrs. Mahaffey for details.

This week the faculty spotlight is on Mrs. Dewana McIntosh. Mrs. McIntosh teaches art at HHS. She was recently awarded the Arkansas Art Educators Association Secondary Level Art Educator of the year. Thank you for all you do for students at HHS. She is a 1999 graduate of HHS.

The Highland Rebel Band was excellent, as usual, at the Patriot's Day Ceremony held at HHS!!!!
Thank you to Judge Gene Moore, Shane Russell, Ricky Crook, Mark Counts, Dick Sackett and all of the local officials who participated in the Patriot's Day Ceremony at HHS. We appreciate all you do for our community!

This week the employee spotlight is on Katrina Farris. She teaches Survey of Business, Principles of Banking and Computerized Accounting, along with being an FBLA Advisor and Senior class sponsor. She worked for twelve years in Higher Education before joining our staff.
ACT Boot Camp was today at HHS. Thank you Mrs. Mahaffey for organizing this event.
